There has been some confusion abut this item. It has 2 USB ports, 1 USB3 and 1 USB2.
The Hard drive is 500Gigs,however, Asus partition the drive so that the "C" drive, which has the Windows 7 operating system, has 200Gigs allocated and the "D" drive, described as the data drive, has 300Gigs allocated, so the sum total of the 2 partitions is 500 Gigabits.
I dual-booted Linux Ubuntu 12.04 to mine, Asus could not say if this was a good idea as they did not know if Ubuntu 12.04 would be able to find drivers for the motherboard.
Ubuntu 12.04 loaded, the computer placed it on the "D" drive and there are no drivers problems.
One just selects if Ubuntu or Windows 7 is wanted, at start-up.
